Tinel Ring Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) Tinel ring backshells offer a quick and easy way to terminate single or double braid using a memory metal ring. This product within our backshell range is known for high vibration and rugged/robust applications. Strain relief and sealing can be achieved with a heat shrink boot. Side Opening Tinel Rings (SETR) parts are available for repair applications.
Tinel Lock Backshell
These backshells contain low profile 360° screen termination by a heat shrink memory metal ring. Sealing and strain relief of backshell by heat shrink boot.
Banding Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO banding backshells offer a quick and easy way to terminate harness EMI shield using a stainless steel band strap. Sealing and strain relief can be achieved with the use of a heat shrink boot. Band strap and heat shrink boot accessories are also available from TE.
Banding Backshell BT Series
Polamco BT series backshells are our most common banding platform. Available as standard configuration, modified, or highly customizable working with our engineering team.
Banding Backshell 88 Series
The 88 Series band in a can backshell offers a banding platform inside the internal chamber. This product also provides an integral strain relief clamp, but does not include integral sealing. This sealing could be provided with a heat shrink boot.
Band in a Can 89 Series
The 89 Series band in a can backshell offers dual banding platform inside the internal chamber, to cater for either double over braid, or individual and overall braid. This product also provides an integral strain relief clamp, but does not include integral sealing. This sealing could be provided with a heat shrink boot.
Banding Backshell AP Series
The AP Series banding backshell offers a banding platform with an internal chamber length modified as standard, a preference in France.
Mesh Sock Backshell KM Series
The KM series banding backshell offers an interesting solution for single and multiple screen termination. A metallic mesh tape (purchased separately) is wrapped around the individual screens and fed through a slot onto the exterior of the backshell. The mesh tape (and the overall screening if applicable) is secured under a band strap. Strain relief can be provided with a cable clamp option, or sealing and strain relief can be achieved with a heat shrink boot on the standard part.
Banding Backshell DS Series
The DS Series banding backshell offers a different solution while still being a banding platform. The modular rear termination component can be used to terminate individual, and multiple screens prior to being reassembled.This gives a lot of flexibility in a complex cable build. A heat shrink boot can be used for sealing.
Braid Tail Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO braid tail backshell has a section of braid terminated via a magneform ring in the factory, which is then connected to the overall screening on the cable. A heat shrink boot can be used for sealing.
Braid Tail 70 Series
The advantage of the 70 series braid tail is that a number of different cable braid diameters can be accommodated without using different entry sizes, hence reducing backshell part number count. A heat shrink boot can be used for sealing.
Braid Trap Backshells
The braid trap backshell uses a course thread to capture the overall braid from the cable. The parts can either be provided with a plain nut, or if strain relief is required, a cable clamp.
Braid Trap Backshells 95 Series
The 95 series braid trap backshells offers a basic termination option for overall braid. This product has been used on military aircraft for 10 years, though TE offers higher performance products for todays more demanding applications such as TXR or BT series.
Spring Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO spring backshell terminates an overall screen using a constant force spring. No tooling is required which makes rework in the field easier. A heat shrink boot is required to be used in all cases, this will also provide strain relief and sealing.
Spring Backshell 91 Series
The 91 series spring backshell is a good solution where rework in the field is required, as no tooling is needed to terminate the screen. A heat shrink boot is required to be used in all cases. For more demanding applications TE offers the TXR and BT series.
Cone Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO & Raychem cone backshells provide a versatile solution for repairable applications where high performance is required. The cone termination platform covers overall screening, individual screening, and a combination of both. The range includes some variants which have sealing options and strain relief clamps.
Cone Backshell 64 Series
The 64 series cone backshell provides termination for individual screens under castellated cone achieving even distribution and clamping without crushing. No tooling is required for assembly and the part can be supplied with a plain nut (for use with heat shrink boot) or with a cable clamp for strain relief.
Cone Backshell 308 Series
The 308 series cone backshell has two screen termination cones. The inner cone can be used to terminate individual cable screens, while the outer cone can be used to terminate an overall screen, or a cable protection braid. A heat shrink boot is required to be used in all cases, this will also provide strain relief and sealing.
Cone Backshell 35 Series
The 35 series cone backshell provides screen termination & environmental cable sealing. Two tapered grounding cones are held separately from the sealing grommet to ensure optimum performance. The rear nut can be plain or a cable clamp, and when tightened forms the IP68 seal.
Cone Backshell 36 Series
The 36 series cone backshell provides screen termination & environmental cable sealing. Two or Three tapered grounding cones are held separately from the sealing gromet to ensure optimum performance. The rear nut can be plain or a cable clamp, and when tightened forms the IP68 seal.
Cone Backshell 39 Series
The 39 series cone backshell provides screen termination & environmental cable sealing. Tapered grounding cones trap the screen directly against the backshell body for the most direct bonding path. A separate sealing grommet ensures optimum performance. The rear nut can be plain or a cable clamp, and when tightened forms the IP68 seal.
HexaShield HEX Series
The HexaShield series cone style backshell provides individual screen termination. This is achieved in a compact size on individual cables. The high levels of screening come from the ferule, solder sleeve and star arrangement, which are all captivated within the backshell. This product gives optimum performance for individual screen cables in the harshest environment.
Sealing Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO sealing backshells either use a grommet or provide a feature for a heat shrink boot. These parts do not accommodate any screen terminations. TE can recommend suitable Raychem heat shrink boots.
Sealing Backshell 37 Series
The 37 series sealing backshell uses a grommet which compresses against the cone within the backshell, the rear nut can be plain or a cable clamp, and when tightened forms the IP68 seal.
Heat Shrink Boot Backshell 97 Series
The 97 series environmental sealing backshell is designed to use a Raychem heat shrink boot. The integral groove and knurled rear provides a feature best suited for location of the boot.
Sealing Backshell 76 Series
The 76 series environmental sealing backshell is for low profile grommet compression. Often referred to as an E-nut it is used with either a heat shrink boot or tubing for sealing.
Strain Relief Backshells
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO non-environmental strain relief backshells are used to protect the connector by helping to ensure the strain on the cables does not reach the contacts. TE offers both 85049 & our commercial part numbers.
Cable Clamp Backshells 96 Series
Standard, open frame style, cable clamp strain relief adaptor. Machined from solid in either straight or 90 degree form for maximum strength, durability and reliability. Shell size determines cable clamp size as standard.
Tie Post Backshells 86 Series
Lightweight adaptor assembly providing location and fixture of cable-tie for strain relief.

Extended Strain Relief Backshells 77 Series
Extended body, open frame style, cable clamp strain relief adaptor. Machined from solid in either straight or 90 degree form for maximum strength, durability and reliability. Entry size determines cable clamp size for more flexibility in terms of cable diameter per shell size.
Pre-fabricated Backshell Kit
TE Connectivity's (TE) POLAMCO & Raychem pre-fabricated backshell kits are easy to install, for example on a submarine. They are constructed from the magnaform adapter, heat shrink boot and 2 adhesives to provide effective sealing and screening.
Thermal Assembly Kit (TAK)
Pre-fabricated kit improves ease of installation, especially in tight space envelopes. They have a range of cable diameters to reduce the number of entry sizes required. Especially useful in applications where systems need to be fitted and cables terminated in place on the submarine, vessel, or military vehicle.

The panel mount pre-fabricated kit improves ease of installation, especially in tight space envelopes. They have a range of cable diameters to reduce the number of entry sizes required. Especially useful in applications where systems need to be fitted and cables terminated in place on the submarine, vessel, or military vehicle.
