TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has introduced its AVC Series of anti-vandal illuminated capacitive pushbutton switches. The AVC switches are RoHS complaint and designed for diverse applications in harsh environments.

“The new AVC switches were extensively tested to assure customers that they will function in harsh environments,” said Zackary Noel, TE product manager. “From salt spray testing to physical testing, the AVC switches include the IP68 certification as part of the IEC 60529 standard.”

TE’s anti-vandal switches are available in 16mm, 19mm and 22mm diameter bushings for a wide range of possible applications. In addition, the AVC series of switches are characterized by 500mm long leads for more convenient installation. The series feature zero actuation force, independent two- or three-color LED control and a momentary and locking actuation option.

“With a wide range of applications from automotive electronics to horticulture to strict access control systems, TE AVC switches are ideal for demanding situations,” said Noel. “Also, the operating life of up to 50 million cycles makes the switches an integral part of a customer’s reliable, sustainable solution.”
