Heat-shrink tubing with a meltable inner layer (double-wall heat-shrink tubing) protects splices and connections in wiring harness connections with high adhesion and is widely used in electronics and aircraft. Due to its easy handling and environmental resilience, the application of the tube has expanded to the field of automotive wiring harnesses, and the demand for tubes that can be used in complex wiring harness configurations is high. To meet this market need, we have developed a new type of double wall heat shrink tubing especially for High-voltage applications within the EV market
Overview
Electric vehicles require components to operate at high temperatures and high voltage, not propagate burning, and help with the identification of HV circuitry. The new VOLINSU EVDW tubing from TE Connectivity (TE) meets the unique challenges of EV applications, delivering a heat shrink tube specifically designed to insulate and protect HV conductive components and cables to ensure operational reliability, whilst enhancing the system's safety.
