Which technology trends are you watching?
I’m interested in solving connectivity problems that we did not even know existed a few years ago. For me, it’s not so much the trend but the customer challenge that is enabling us to innovate while solving sensing and connectivity issues in a customer’s technology. This kind of evolution, coupled with ever-increasing computational power, is enabling our engineers to design sensors and control systems with a myriad of applications in the connected home domain.
What is the value of working with TE?
We partner with the customer to solve their specific problems within a bigger scheme of things. TE possesses decades of experience co-innovating with customers. This customer intimacy helps us quickly understand and solve the specific challenge and leverage our experience and portfolio to find the solution most appropriate to the customer and their goals.
Which kinds of projects do you find challenging and gratifying?
These are the ones when the customer says “Wow, I did not think of this way to solve this problem.” The most elegant solutions are often the simplest ones. Those where afterwards you think: “why has nobody come up with this idea before?” Throughout my career, I’ve looked for challenging projects and begin by defining the problem to solve. I believe that we must begin with a well-articulated problem statement. This often requires the team to think beyond their immediate instinct and the obvious engineering solution to see an opportunity that can help differentiate the customer.
