Question: What is GDIP?
Answer: GDIP is the acronym for our Global Distribution Insulator Platform. This insulator range is competitive and optimized, designed and tested to the latest revision of the insulator standards. The insulators can be used for system applications up to 72 kV.
Question: Where can the GDIP tension insulator be used and what are the typical applications?
Answer: Our distribution tension type insulators can be used on overhead lines operating at or below 72 kV. They are used to support line conductors in suspension such as line terminations, with bare or covered conductors. The high tensile strength of glass fiber has been combined with our high voltage shed profile, to produce this rugged, lightweight tension insulator for global overhead line applications. Our tension insulators are tested to both IEC & ANSI insulator standards.
Question: What are the main features and benefits of the GDIP?
Answer: The main features and benefits of our insulator platform are:
- Design to increase network reliability
- Reliable tensile performance
- Reduction of network maintenance requirements
- Wide range of applications: normal to very heavy pollution environments
- High quality and long-lasting silicone housing material
- Light design: ease handling, storage and installation
- Corrosion-resistant end fittings which can be used in aggressive environments
- Easy ordering and end fitting configuration
Question: What type of end fitting options are available?
Answer: You can choose any combination or orientation, between our wide selection of galvanized metal end fittings. You can refer to our technical brochure or contact your sales representative.
