Automotive Contactors

Our high-voltage contactors and relays are electromechanical switching devices that provide safe, fast, and reliable disconnection and connection to protect the expensive components in an electric vehicle. Contactors can be used to protect an EV’s traction battery, onboard charger, inverter, and auxiliary components. Some of our contactor models – the EVC 135 and EVC 500 – are hermetically sealed and filled with pressurized inert gas, typically nitrogen or hydrogen, which protects the contacts. Our newer contactor designs – the EVC 175, EVC 250 and EVC 250-800 – are not sealed and perform the same protective switching function without the need for inert gases. Finally, our Mini K HV pre-charge relays provide solutions for high-voltage DC power systems that are cost-effective, light, and safe.
