Overview

Our SIMAFLEX High Voltage Flexible Cable Connectors is designed for flexible connections in AC & DC applications up to 500 kV (phase-to-phase voltage). The range includes Mechanical support, derivations, connections to terminal equipment (stud & pads), transition connections to rigid aluminum busbars, as well as accessories such as earthing stirrups, and spacers.

The Metric range covers connectors for aluminum stranded conductors from 15 MM and up to 59 MM O/D and transition connections to aluminum tubular conductors from 80MM O/D and up to 250MM O/D.

The Imperial range covers connectors for aluminum stranded conductors from 266.8 MCM (0.609”) and up to 3500MCM (2.159”) and transition connections to aluminum Tubular conductors from 2.5” and up to 6” for both NPS and EHPS dimensions.

Connections for Single, Twin, Triplex and Quad conductors bundle configurations are available from 100 MM (4”) aand up to 450 MM (18”).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is the difference between TE’S SIMABUS and TE’s SIMAFLEX?

Answer: Our high voltage substation connectors can be broken into two categories: rigid bus (aluminum pipe) or flexible cable (cable conductors). SIMABUS are connectors designed and used on the rigid aluminum bus and SIMAFLEX are connectors designed and used on the aluminum flexible cables.

Question: What is the installation method of the SIMAFLEX Flexible Cable Connectors?

Answer: Our SIMAFLEX are bolted connectors for aluminum cables, along with bi-metallic sleeves that can be used on copper conductors.

Question: What voltage range do the SIMAFLEX connectors cover?

Answer:  Our SIMAFLEX offer a single solution from 63 to 550 kV.

Question: What are the standards used for manufacturing SIMAFLEX substation connectors?

Answer: We manufacture and test our SIMAFLEX connectors to both IEC and ANSI/NEMA standards. For ANSI/NEMA standards, the connectors are manufactured and tested to ANSI CC1-2009 requirements. Test reports and additional information can be provided upon request.
