Overview

The H2TD sensor is a relative humidity sensing element that measures ambient and windshield temperature. Mounted on the windshield, the sensor computes dewpoint temperature with high accuracy and fast response time, enabling the climate control system to optimize power consumption.

Energy Savings

The HVAC system is the second largest power consumer after powertrain in a vehicle. Thanks to the H2TD sensor, the climate control system is turned on only when required – at a controlled fan speed – to ensure passenger comfort or prevent fog, lowering overall consumption and extending driving range.

Standalone sensors such as H2TD are not impacted by environmental perturbations; thermal self-heating induced by cameras, LIDAR, etc. Due to the sensor's compact size, it can be installed on a convenient location enabling optimized performances. Passenger Comfort & Safety

Fog appearance and moisture in the air are sources of dangerous driving conditions and passenger discomfort. TE’s anti-fog sensor, used with appropriate logic prevents windshield from fogging up and maintains the appropriate level of relative humidity for passenger comfort.
