DEUTSCH 983 Series Connectors

SEALED ENGINE CONNECTORS

TE Connectivity (TE)'s 983 series connector was created in the 90’s. This connector has been especially designed for harsh environment aircraft zone applications such as engines and boosters. Available in two versions, this connector is used in its stainless steel version on harsh constraint-facing areas such as engines, landing gears, APU (Auxiliary Power Unit), wings, pylons, leading edges whereas the aluminum version is used in cargo compartments. Qualified to EN2997 specification for its stainless steel and aluminum version, TE’s DEUTSCH 983 series is also qualified to ADS (Aerospace Defense and Security) ESC10, Boeing BACC63 and Airbus ABS specifications. In addition, these connectors are fully intermate-able with MIL-DTL-83723 Series III connectors. These connectors use contacts qualified to the EN3155 and ADS ESC30 specifications.

HERMETIC ENGINE CONNECTORS

TE's DEUTSCH 983 series engine connectors are also available as hermetic connectors.  Engineered and manufactured to operate reliably, in applications exposed to an environment with high temperatures, fuel submersion, high-vibration, extreme shock, high pressure, and high vacuum.

BACKSHELLS & ACCESSORIES FOR ENGINE CONNECTORS

For the DEUTSCH 983 series connectors, TE is offering a wide range of accessories to support the engine connector program.  Both straight and 90 degree back shells are available to help correct cable support and help prevent bending or over flexing. Depending on the application a variety of platting finishes and raw materials can be offered. In addition TE is also supporting accessories providing environmental protection, storage solutions and termination options to suit most connectors and interfaces.

CONTACTS & TOOLS ENGINE CONNECTORS

For the DEUTSCH 983 series connectors TE Connectivity (TE) offers a complete range of solid contacts integrated into most of TE’s DEUTSCH connectors currently available on aerospace, defense, and marine markets. These contacts are designed for standard applications up to 200°C, but also to help withstand higher temperatures and higher vibration constraints up to 260°C for engine applications. According to markets, and customer needs, our contacts can be qualified to the EN3155 standard or to specific customer standards such as ESC or ABS qualifications.
