High density solutions that meet extreme subsea pressures
TE's SEACON electrical dry-mate connectors are mated in air with the mating interfaces being kept dry and sealed from the external environment. Once properly mated, the connector can be submerged to it's rated depth. Many types of dry-mate underwater connectors are available in commercial styles.
MINI-CON CONNECTOR
The SEACON MINI-CON range of small diameter, high density, and high pressure connectors has been in production and field proven for several decades. Dry-mateable, this connector series is manufactured from 316 stainless steel as standard, although special to order materials are available, including titanium. The inserts are manufactured from Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) with copper alloy, gold plated contacts, although glass sealed inserts are also available for high open face pressure applications. Standard connectors are designed for use on 1 atmosphere pressure vessels. Contact us for other applications.

55 SERIES CONNECTOR
The 55 series of dry-mate connectors are available in 5 shell sizes and are manufactured from 316L stainless steel as standard, although other materials such as titanium, aluminum bronze and alloy 625 are also available as options. The PEEK 55 series connector was developed as an addition to the established 55 series. It was designed with the purpose of meeting the ever increasing demands of material selection. The material selection was chosen to eliminate any corrosion or delamination and weight reduction issues whilst maintaining connector performance. This connector has excellent wear and abrasion resistance and is rated to 10,000 psig (mated or unmated).

RUBBER MOLDED CONNECTOR
Our standard Rubber Molded connector series typically consists of an in-line female neoprene connector mated to a Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) bulkhead connector. Various sizes are available ranging from single contact connectors up to 12 contact connectors. Most Rubber Molded connectors are available with pins and sockets reversed to help prevent mismating of connectors, which otherwise look identical. This also allows for socket type contacts in a connector where there is a possibility of a "power-on" situation. Many of the bulkhead type connectors are available in 316 stainless steel. Male in-line connectors round out the series allowing for in-line mated sets not requiring bulkhead penetration. In addition, the WOC (without cable) type connectors allow for field installation in the event that a connector is damaged while at sea and needs replacing, or for long cable lengths that make cable transportation cost prohibitive. The time proven Rubber Molded series is one of our most affordable lines and has been used on all types of underwater instrumentation including: underwater lighting, communications, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV)'s, thermistor arrays, hydrophone arrays, and all types of sonar systems. The contacts are gold plated per ASTM-B-488 and the series is rated up to 20,000 psig in a mated condition. These SEACON connectors have a long track record in the subsea industry dating back to the 1960’s.

This ultra miniature design connector incorporates the characteristics of some of our popular connectors in a smaller, rugged and reliable package. The contacts are gold plated and range from 28 AWG to 22 AWG sizes and are rated to 10,000 psig mated. The bulkhead connector consists of a metal shell with a molded Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) insert. The cable connector is molded in neoprene to standard or cable lengths upon request. This design makes for a rugged, economical connector. Our engineers have achieved an extremely high contact density connector whilst keeping the installation as easy as possible by using standard sizes and only requiring the use of standard SAE porting tools for bulkhead preparation.

MIL-SPEC CONNECTOR
Our MIL-C-24231 series of connectors are manufactured and tested in accordance with the strict requirements of the Navy specification MIL-C-24231. Available in various shell sizes and contact configurations, plugs can be supplied terminated and molded into water proof cable assemblies or supplied in kit form. In addition, we also offer a GRE (Glass Reinforced Epoxy) overcoated version for applications where cathodic delamination is an issue. This version also offers a GRE backed polyurethane insert which eliminates water leakage through the connector when cable damage occurs.
Our M24217 series of hermetic connectors are manufactured and tested to the strict requirements of the Navy specification MIL-C-24217. This series of connectors is widely used in many undersea and military applications and is also suitable for any operation where pressure, humidity, or temperature are factors of performance. A full range of receptacle mounting styles are available and contact configurations range from single coaxial to 48 size #16 conductors. As with all TE SEACON connectors, plugs can be supplied terminated and molded into water proof cable assemblies or supplied in kit form. TE maintains certified molding facilities in both California and Rhode Island, USA for all PRO 20 requirements.
