TE Connectivity MTA Tooling Crimping Instructions
Step 1: Depress handle to advance inserter
Step 2: Insert MTA connector from the left side, with the insertion holes pointing up and closest to the operator
The connector is properly seated when it touches the inserter
Step 3: Release the handle to advance the connector
Step 4: Insert wire so that it bottoms in the wire guide slot
Step 5: Depress the handle to insert the wire into the insulation displacement crimp (IDC) connector
The connector will travel to the right, one position at a time to facilitate faster crimping
Step 6: Repeat process until connector reaches the right end of the tool for removal
How to clear the tool if a jam occurs
Step 1: Lightly pull back on the trigger
Step 2: Press down on the ratchet release button
Step 3: Release handle
Step 4: Press trigger as many times as required to advance and release the connector
