Overview of V2X and how to integrate into today’s vehicles

An important step in automotive connectivity will be the V2X technology. We are working on innovative ways to integrate this technology in different facets: From the antenna, to signal conditioning and electronics.


There are several intelligent approaches for implementing a V2X system into the vehicle architecture. We address optimum locations for V2X equipment and discuss solutions including V2X antennas and compensators, and V2X control units with customized vehicle network interfaces. We also share our view on the two major implementations DSRC and C-V2X, investigating their capabilities.

Electromagnetic and thermal simulations in High Voltage board net applications

Data & Power are the fuel of the next century: while Advanced Driver Assistant functions (ADAS) and high-resolution sensors are driving the data transmission rates, more and more electrical power is demanded for the power train in battery electric vehicles (BEV). These disruptive mega trends are challenging the integration into the physical layer of the automotive board net because they show a strong coupling and interaction with sometimes contradicting requirements. While data needs a high robustness against electromagnetic interference (EMI) the power shall not violence the system with radiated emissions. The tight integration increases the thermal stress which must be managed in both. Connectors are playing a crucial role in this: as the modules, cable and the topology of the layout are determining the system performance, it is required to use a holistic system approach to simulate and validate Thermal-electric and Electro-magnetic behavior on system level - before they are affecting safety critical system functions.

Christian joined TE Connectivity as R&D engineer in 2014.
Previously, he worked as a research assistant at the ‘Institut für Hochfrequenztechnik und Elektronik’ (IHE) at KIT, where he developed novel high-frequency components and antennas for highly integrated millimeter wave radar systems.

Christian Rusch completed his studies in Information Technology in 2009 with a Master of Science degree from the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim. He received his Dr.-Ing. degree from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2014.

Steffen Lang heads the product management team for Automotive Wireless at TE Connectivity, focusing on identifying new market trends in the antennas and connectivity space and developing TE Connectivity’s product portfolio accordingly.

Alberto joined TE Connectivity in 2004. Before TE, he worked as Engineer at Siemens in global telecommunications projects.

Alberto is a Graduate Engineer in Electrical Engineering at University of Applied Science in Dortmund, Germany, and earned as well a Master of Business Administration and Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.

Marco Wolf is Principal Field Application Engineer for Hybrid and E-Mobility Solutions (HEMS). He supports internal and external customers with system expertise and technical simulation for Thermal Management and Electro- Magnetic Interference (EMI) in High-Voltage Systems and Architectures. and

Marco joined TE Connectivity as Product Engineer in 1999 and held various Engineering and Technical Marketing functions in Automotive Sensors Product Line. 2012 he became head the Advanced Engineering Automotive Sensors before he joined 2018 the Hybrid and E-Mobility Solutions (HEMS).

Alexander Ginsburg is leading the Product Management department for battery connectivity applications in the EMEA region. Alex is responsible for the HV battery connectivity portfolio.

Alex joined TE Connectivity in 2015. Prior to TE, he worked as a product and project manager at Bombardier Transportation, developing and managing power train systems. Prior to that, Alex was an application engineer for automation products and electrical drive systems at Festo and Lenze.

Alex earned an engineering degree in Information & Mechatronic technology from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, as well as an MBA from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, USA.

Boris Ketscher is Product Manager for automotive terminals and connectors. He is responsible for the Sales & Marketing strategy for the 48V architecture of automotive vehicles. Additionally, he is responsible for the Terminal Strategy for Power Applications within the low Voltage and high Voltage architecture.

Boris joined TE in 2014 as Junior Product Manager for Plug-In relays. Later, he moved to TE’s Core Business as Product Manager and took over the responsibility for the 48V and Power terminal Strategy.

He earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and has more than 6 years of experience in automotive relays, terminals and connectors.

Anne Nentwig is the Global Product Manager for the Miniaturization T&C Portfolio NanoMQS and MCON 0.50. She works in close contact with Sales, Customers and Engineering Teams in developing and/or promoting exisiting and new miniaturized products in the Automotive T&C market.

Anne joined TE Connectivity as Product Manager in 2017.
Previously she has worked as Sales Manager for EMEA and Asia Regions for ABB High Power Systems.

Anne earned an engineering degree in electronics and communications from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.

Pedro Iglesia Gonzalez is Product Manager for automotive terminals and connectors. He is responsible for the product lines in the low power or LV segment of automotive graded connectors for the main vehicle applications.

Pedro joined TE in 2017 as Product Manager. Prior to 2017, he worked 9 years in various roles in tactical Sales and Product Marketing, together with Training Development functions for the Off Highway manufacturer John Deere.

He earned a Masters degree in Business Administration after previously having earned a degree on Automotive Design and Technology.

Marco Wolf is Principal Field Application Engineer for Hybrid and E-Mobility Solutions (HEMS). He supports internal and external customers with system expertise and technical simulation for Thermal Management and Electro- Magnetic Interference (EMI) in High-Voltage Systems and Architectures. and

Marco joined TE Connectivity as Product Engineer in 1999 and held various Engineering and Technical Marketing functions in Automotive Sensors Product Line. 2012 he became head the Advanced Engineering Automotive Sensors before he joined 2018 the Hybrid and E-Mobility Solutions (HEMS).

Alexander Ginsburg is leading the Product Management department for battery connectivity applications in the EMEA region. Alex is responsible for the HV battery connectivity portfolio.

Alex joined TE Connectivity in 2015. Prior to TE, he worked as a product and project manager at Bombardier Transportation, developing and managing power train systems. Prior to that, Alex was an application engineer for automation products and electrical drive systems at Festo and Lenze.

Alex earned an engineering degree in Information & Mechatronic technology from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, as well as an MBA from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, USA.

Product Manager Terminals and Connectors

Boris Ketscher is Product Manager for automotive terminals and connectors. He is responsible for the Sales & Marketing strategy for the 48V architecture of automotive vehicles. Additionally, he is responsible for the Terminal Strategy for Power Applications within the low Voltage and high Voltage architecture.

Boris joined TE in 2014 as Junior Product Manager for Plug-In relays. Later, he moved to TE’s Core Business as Product Manager and took over the responsibility for the 48V and Power terminal Strategy.

He earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and has more than 6 years of experience in automotive relays, terminals and connectors.

Anne Nentwig is the Global Product Manager for the Miniaturization T&C Portfolio NanoMQS and MCON 0.50. She works in close contact with Sales, Customers and Engineering Teams in developing and/or promoting exisiting and new miniaturized products in the Automotive T&C market.

Anne joined TE Connectivity as Product Manager in 2017.
Previously she has worked as Sales Manager for EMEA and Asia Regions for ABB High Power Systems.

Anne earned an engineering degree in electronics and communications from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.

Product Manager Terminals and Connectors

Pedro Iglesia Gonzalez is Product Manager for automotive terminals and connectors. He is responsible for the product lines in the low power or LV segment of automotive graded connectors for the main vehicle applications.

Pedro joined TE in 2017 as Product Manager. Prior to 2017, he worked 9 years in various roles in tactical Sales and Product Marketing, together with Training Development functions for the Off Highway manufacturer John Deere.

He earned a Masters degree in Business Administration after previously having earned a degree on Automotive Design and Technology.
