A vehicle antenna is designed to be installed or mounted on the exterior or interior of a vehicle. Because vehicles come in many different sizes and shapes and with very different connectivity requirements, the antennas for these vehicles can vary widely. Vehicle antennas are built to withstand harsher or more rugged environments than antennas that may be placed in a static or non-moving location. Because of this, our vehicle antenna portfolio undergoes a range of tests according to their use case, such as shock, vibration, wind survival, temperature, and humidity.

A simple vehicle antenna can be a single band and single port antenna designed for one specific frequency range. 
Alternatively, as the frequency requirements of the vehicle expand, so does the port and frequency band coverage of the antenna. This can mean multi-port vehicle antenna solutions are required where a single antenna can have as many as 14 ports. It may be also need to cover a multitude of frequencies, such as 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GNSS, UHF, VHF, and more from a single antenna.

 

The common installation method for many vehicles antennas is to connect to an industrial vehicle router or gateway. TE antennas are designed to meet the needs of industry-leading router and gateway manufacturers. Many connector and cable options exist for the same antenna in order to allow connections to multiple routers.
