TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensor solutions, today announced the expansion of its high voltage (HV) terminals and connectors portfolio. With more than 50 years of experience in automotive connectivity and HV electricity, TE enables the connections needed to safely, efficiently and reliably make sustainable hybrid and electric mobility a reality.
TE's broad line of HV connectors and headers includes a complete range of interfaces required in hybrid and electric vehicles. New developments and product family extensions include:
The AMP+ HVP 1100 HV terminal and connector system is designed for voltage levels up to 750V. It features a current carrying capability up to 300A at 85 degrees Celsius and a cable range of 35mm² to 95mm² with individually shielded wires. Similar to the proven HVA 280 and HVP 800 systems, this additional one position connector and header set is finger proof, touch safe and features an integrated internal High Voltage Interlock (HVIL) for package size optimization. The system enables multiple variations to meet design requirements for hybrid and electric vehicle applications such as new generation batteries and fast charging applications.
Our AMP+ HVP 800 HV terminal and connector system is designed for main interfaces in powertrains for hybrid and electric vehicles. A new one-position, finger-proof and touch safe HV plug and header set will complete the HVP 800 family in 2017. With voltage ratings of up to 850V for a current carrying capability of 200A at 85 degrees Celsius, the system is qualified for an individual cable ranging from 25mm² to 50mm². The latching mechanism enables optimum performance even under shock and vibration. The headers are also suitable for bus bar mounting. Applications include battery, inverter and e-motor.
TE’s AMP+ HVA 280 HV terminal and connector system includes finger-proof, touch-safe two- or three-position low-medium current plugs and headers. The new two-position plug and header withstands severity level 3 (application close to powertrain). The header features stitched power tabs that can be mounted directly onto the printed circuit board (PCB). The HVA 280 plugs, headers and in-line connections are suitable for use with multi-core or individually shielded wires, and can reach voltage ratings of up to 850V, respectively. The current carrying capability is up to 40A at 85 degrees Celsius with a cable range of 2mm² to 5mm². The complete system offers multiple variations to meet design requirements for hybrid and electric vehicle devices. The system also provides multiple latching options and an integrated internal HVIL, allowing for package size optimization and routing flexibility. It is best for auxiliary applications such as climate compressor, heater or on-board charger system.
