Connector contacts are usually connector pins or sockets that are part of the circular connector’s conductive portion used to transfer electricity, but can be any conductive contact between two connectors. A contact pin or socket contact is used so connectors can function within the rated voltage and current specifications, environmental conditions, and specified mechanical and physical loads. All contacts should provide a solid connection between the contact barriers, and it is recommended that the same contact material is used on each side of a connector to keep the specifications congruous. If connectors are not joined with proper and appropriate connector housing, premature failure can easily occur. Connector contacts come in a wide variety of features based on the application need. These are available in multiple metals, sizes, lengths, and surface area ratings. Connector contacts are used within our circular connectors in the following applications: military, offshore, commercial, and industrial operations.
