Overview

Our Raychem LVIT Busbar Insulation Tubing is a low voltage medium-wall tubing. Made from UV-resistant and flame-retardant heat shrink materials, it shrinks tightly to its original smaller extruded diameter and to the busbar shape when heat is applied. This heat shrink busbar tubing can be easily installed in a factory environment using an oven or in the field using a gas torch or hot air. The insulation tubing is suitable for both enclosed and exposed busbars and for connections in switchgear, substations, motor control centers and other electrical equipment in both indoor and outdoor applications.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: In which application can TE's Raychem Busbar Insulation Tubing be used?

Answer: Our insulation tubing can be used on a variety of curved and bent busbars of both circular and rectangular cross-section for insulation typically up to 1 kV. It is suitable for both enclosed and exposed busbars and for connections in switchgear, substations, motor control centers and other electrical equipment.

Question: What is the Busbar Insulation Tubing made from?

Answer: Our Busbar Insulation Tubing is made of our Raychem specially-formulated thermoplastic polymer material. When heat is applied, the tubing will shrink over the busbar.

Question: What are the main advantages of Busbar Insulation Tubing?

Answer: Our Busbar Insulation Tubing is highly flame retardant. With UL accreditation, it has been specially designed for low voltage, high current switchgear with long service life, even at continuously high operating temperatures.
