Our Raychem RSTI Separable Connectors with Voltage Sensor are designed to increase network transparency and support the implementation of smart grids.
Our Raychem RSTI Separable Connectors with Voltage Sensor is the new generation of screened separable connectors. The separable connector with voltage sensor fits 630/1250A bushings type C as specified by EN 50180 and EN 50181 and is suitable for both new and retrofit installations up to 24 kV.
In conjunction with the new generation of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), the voltage sensor provides a measuring signal for grid management applications like monitoring, power quality, protection or metering, as well as asset management applications, like PD monitoring.
The capacitive voltage divider concept is used in the voltage sensor technology for passive medium voltage instrument transformers.
This concept provides intrinsic safety and protection advantages for the operation of sensors in power networks due to the galvanic isolation from high voltage. It also provides an appropriate signal for on-site partial discharge monitoring.
In addition, the compact design provides complete integration within the smart separable connector, as well as full encapsulation through a grounded and conductive outer screen.
with Raychem RSTI-VS separable connector with voltage sensor, now compatible with Kries’ grid monitoring device IKI-50.
Watch our video to learn more about how to install our Smart RSTI Separable Connector in new applications.
Our Separable Connectors are engineered to optimize performance and solve your switchgear and transformer connection challenges in IEC, IEEE and GB/T power grids.
Question: How can I precisely measure voltage/current in distribution networks?
Answer: To precisely measure the voltage or current in your power distribution network, you can use our Raychem Separable Connectors with Voltage Sensor. They will help you to improve the transparency of your network and to implement a smart grid.
Question: Can I use voltage sensors in secondary substations?
Answer: Yes, our Separable Connectors with Voltage Sensor can be installed in secondary substations. They are suitable for both new and retrofit applications.
Question: What are “smart cable accessories”?
Answer: Smart cable accessories, such as our Separable Connectors with Voltage Sensor are devices that enable signal measurement for grid management such as monitoring, power quality, protection, or metering.
Question: What is the reference standard for voltage sensors?
Answer: The reference standard for voltage sensors is IEC 61869-11 for a low power instrument transformer.
Question: How are the Separable Connectors and Voltage Sensors tested?
Answer: Our Raychem Separable Connectors and Voltage Sensors are tested according to cable accessories standard HD 629.1 and low power instrument transformer IEC 61869. Their compliance with these standards ensures a long-lasting and reliable performance of our products.
