Overview
The 515M series faceplate air sensing RTD probe sensor is typically used for indoor room and outdoor air temperature monitoring.

We have three housing styles available which can be utilized for applications that require multiple mounting options. The faceplate sensor design can easily be mounted into a standard 2x4 inch conduit box. The air sensing RTD probe sensors have a small rugged sheath for quick time response as well as a guard which protects the sensor from impact damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an RTD?
A: An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a sensor whose resistance changes as its temperature changes.  The resistance increases as the temperature of the sensor increases.  The resistance versus temperature relationship is well known and is repeatable over time. An RTD is a passive device.  It does not produce an output on its own.  External electronic devices are used to measure the resistance of the sensor by passing a small electrical current through the sensor to generate a voltage.
