Reduce the complexity of street lighting architecture
Our LUMAWISE Endurance S connector system is a set of products specially designed for street and area lighting. The system consists of a receptacle mounted on the outdoor luminaire and several base and dome enclosures that house embedded electronics that sense, collect and analyze data from the surrounding harsh environment. Integral gaskets complimented with a low-torque mating design seal both luminaire and module. The receptacle connection accepts modules built on either the 40mm or 80mm diameter base. Together, the system forms a robust enclosure for sensor modules and network lighting control systems. The design is compact, UV resistant, IP66 seal rated and can be mounted on the top, bottom or even the side of a luminaire, offering flexibility to the designer.
We have two main offerings. The Endurance S Zhaga Book 18 connector system enables D4i controlled Zhaga Book 18 compliant luminaires while the Endurance S keyed connector system enables non-Book 18 applications like Z10. Extending from the Endurance S portfolio is the S2 receptacle. Offered in both Zhaga Book 18 and Z10 enabled keyed varieties the S2 receptacle introduces a two-wire per contact solution for daisy-chain wiring and applied cost savings in luminaires with dual node architecture.
Features and Benefits
- Compact size allowing greater flexibility in luminaire design.
- Poke-in wire insertion for ease of termination with no crimp tools required.
- S2 receptacle offers two wires per contact enabling daisy chain wiring for ZD4i applications.
- Flexible mounting position; upwards, downwards and sideways facing.
- Scalable solution with the receptacle accepting modules built on the Ø40 mm or Ø80 mm base assembly.
- IP65 and IP66 sealing with no mounting screws.
- Simple insert and rotate to lock feature, no tooling needed and one handed operation to install allows luminaires to be simply and quickly upgraded.

Making Cities Smarter: Hybrid Solutions for LED Street Lighting Systems
Since much of the world is using luminaires designed to ANSI C136 Standards, backward compatibility is important when updating light fixtures. However, Zhaga/D4i dual-node architecture is destined to become the backbone of smart city infrastructure. Our LUMAWISE Endurance products may be the key to implementing a hybrid solution.

Photocontrols for Automating Outdoor Lighting Systems
Today's outdoor lighting systems are increasingly designed for connected solutions with smart cities in mind. These systems typically involve integrating wireless communication with LED lights and dimming controls. To define these advances, engineers have had to update standards around a grand vision for the future state of automated lighting. Informed by our 50 years experience designing robust controls for lighting systems in communities around the world, we have developed the LUMAWISE ALR photocontrols to automate luminaire operation for a wide variety of on/off applications.
Applications
- Street and area lighting.
- Roadway lighting.
- Commercial/municipal outdoor lighting.
- Outdoor luminaires (wall packs, parking lots, walkways photo controls).
- City management system.
- Sensor modules i.e. motion.
Specifically for outdoor LED light sources and drivers the LUMAWISE Endurance S connectors has been designed as a standalone system and can be used in a complementary function as an auxiliary sensor module when additional functionality is required in ANSI/NEMA based fixtures. Installation is easy and fast due to its simple push-and-twist lock feature which does not require any special tools and can be completed using one hand. These connectors can be mounted in any direction and offers improved sealing when compared to other systems. Modules can be exchanged and upgraded in only a few seconds without having to electrically isolate the lighting pole.
