Ergonomically designed spiral holdout provides a smooth installation with low release forces.
Our Raychem CSJA In-Line Joint Cold Shrink is made of silicone rubber that provides high dielectric strength, high tear strength, low tension set, and excellent low temperature recovery. The integrated electrical stress control is enhanced by factory molded stress cones and a Faraday cage. Void filling stress relief mastics are not necessary. Our CSJA joint system’s proven shield continuity concept can also bridge concentric neutrals. The joint accepts both mechanical and compression connectors. When a shear bolt connector is used, this is a totally crimpless system.
CSJA joint system meets IEEE-404 requirements for 15 kV through 35 kV. Each silicone splice body is factory tested to include AC withstand and partial discharge in accordance with IEEE-404 production tests.
The CSJA is part of a shielded cable splice kit that can include both mechanical or compression connector.
Our Raychem Cold Shrink Joint (CSJA) is an all-in-one solution. It is designed for use on 1/C shielded power cables (15-35 kV). Watch the CSJA installation video to learn more.
Question: Does TE offer any installation training for CSJA-1C In-Line Joint Cold Shrink?
Answer: Yes, we do offer installation training for our In-Line Joint Cold Shrink for 1C shielded cables. We have highly skilled and experienced trainers that can provide you with customized training. Learn more at TE.com/trainingcenter.
Question: What type of connectors are included in In-Line Joint Cold Shrink?
Answer: Our Raychem In-Line Joint Cold Shrink can be used with both compression or shear bolt connectors for both copper or aluminum cables. Customers may choose which connector to include in the kit.
Question: What are the In-Line Joint Cold Shrinks made of?
Answer: Our In-Line Joint Cold Shrink range is designed using our Raychem cold shrink technology and has an all-in-one design. Our cold shrink joints are made of a single piece of silicone rubber (pre-expanded on spiral holdouts) that has a high mechanical expansion capability allowing a wide range of applications. The CSJA has an integrated electrical stress control thanks to the use of a geometrical stress cone and a Faraday cage together with the metallic shield. Rejacketing is also integrated into a single piece splice.
