Efficient Hermetic Compressor Connections
Cluster blocks provide manufacturers of air conditioning and refrigeration products with a low-cost, fully insulated, electrical quick-connect to mate with hermetic compressor header pins. They feature high impact resistance to shock and abuse, and long-life performance in the presence of oils and refrigerants. Since the connectors accept pins from only one side, the danger of reversing polarity at the time of installation is minimized. Housings are available for both the interior and exterior of the compressor and accept either lead wire terminals or AMPLIVAR direct connect magnet wire terminals. TE’s cluster blocks are engineered with a low contact insertion force for easy assembly and are available on reels for high-speed application.

Cluster Blocks
Glow Wire Test Compliant
TE Connectivity has consistently devoted itself to the development of products fully in compliance with GWT to help customers reach the IEC60335-1 standard. GWT versions of cluster block housings are a direct result of these activities. Using PA6(6) material, these new cluster block housings are fully compliant with both GWT and the original requirement of the cluster block. No changes in termination are required, as the new models accept the existing terminals.
Economy Cluster Blocks
Housings and Contacts
TE Connectivity has developed Economy cluster block housings that are used with a new pin receptacle to provide cost-effective cluster block connections for hermetic compressors. The housings are offered in both standard glass-filled PBT material and glass-filled PBT material meeting both the GWT and UL 94 V-0 requirement.
Low Temperature Rise Cluster Block
Automated Assembly Solution
The low-temperature rise cluster block helps air conditioner manufacturers meet compressor operating temperature requirements with a quick, easy, and reliable connection. The cluster block design provides up to 28% lower temperature rise than current standard offerings. The solderless connection provides a cleaner assembly than comparable soldered solutions and the hermetic pin alignment feature supports easier automated assembly.
