Application
Connectivity for Power Demands
TE provides innovative products for evolving vehicle architectures in order to protect power and serve signal needs.
As power demands in vehicles increase, the ability to support these demands with a traditional belt-driven 12V generator and point-to-point wiring becomes more challenging. Car manufacturers will soon be introducing a second, 48V system to support the power demands for future vehicles. With the improved dynamic of power transfer to and from the battery, 48V technology increases the recuperation effect that enables implementation of new fuel saving technologies. 48V also facilitates a more efficient, lower current implementation of current 12V applications including heated windshields, HVAC systems, cooling fans, power steering, start-stop systems, damping systems and pumps. TE is developing families of solutions to address these evolving vehicle architectures, serving and protecting power and signal needs. Leading products include:
Power and High Power Terminals: 25-100+ Amps
-
25-40 Amps
The stated current rating is the maximum the contact can carry continuously in optimum conditions. Refer to the product specification derating factors to be applied for high ambient temperature and/or multiple circuit housing applications.
