Designed to promote heat loss and cooling
We offer chassis mount resistors in 10 different power ratings, ranging from 5W to 300W. Our chassis mount resistors can be customized to meet different pulse energy ratings and/or methods of connection to the customer’s equipment.
A chassis mount resistor is manufactured using wirewound resistor technology and features a ceramic core that is molded into an extruded aluminum chassis mount housing. The wirewound design maximizes pulse handling and the aluminum housing allows for superior heat conduction. Our chassis mount resistors are engineered for a variety of applications, including motor control, braking systems, welding, and X-rays.

Vitreous Enamel Coated Power Resistor-Type VE Series
TE Connectivity (TE) introduces its vitreous enameled tubular power resistors (type VE series), designed for high load capacity at low dimensions and high durability. The VE range of wire wound tubular resistors are created for maximum power density (in free air) and coated with a durable vitreous enamel coating providing a reliable and resilient high-power solution. These resistors are available with solder lug terminations as standard, and different tube sizes for given power.
Benefits
- Highly durable coating
- Higher energy dissipation with smaller products Forced cooling not needed
- Ideal for space-saving and cost-saving
Aluminium Housed Power Resistors - Type HS Series
TE Connectivity (TE) is one of the leading European suppliers of standard and custom designed aluminium housed resistors for general-purpose use, power supplies, power generation and the traction and drives industries. The HS Series product offering, a range of extremely stable, high-quality wire wound resistors are made from quality materials for optimum reliability and stability, capable of dissipating high power in a limited space with relatively low surface temperature. The aluminium housing in these resistors help rapidly dissipate power to a specified heat sink. This latest revision of the datasheet introduces two new additions to the series: the HSCS stud terminal type HSC75, 100, and 150, and the HSHC type with power ratings from 350W to 500W, giving this series the widest range of power ratings currently on offer. TE is happy to advise on the use of these resistors for pulse applications and high voltage use. On request, TE can modify and test these resistors specifically to conform to relevant international, military or customer specifications. Low ohmic values, alternative mountings, and alternative termination types are also available on request.
Benefits
Aluminium Housed Power Resistors - Type HS Series
- Wide range of power provides uses for varied applications
- High acceptability due to custom design offerings on demand.
- High stability to high power
- Reliable for use in pulse applications
Aluminium Housed Resistor - CJB Series
TE Connectivity (TE) introduces its multiple mount option equipped wirewound resistor, the CJB Series. Manufactured with aluminium sections and with virtually no need for additional heatsinking, this resistor can be used in applications where space is limited. These resistors are designed to absorb high power overloads which makes them suitable for braking applications. This high impulse absorption capability also makes them a good choice for a range of power electronic circuits including frequency convertors, servo drives, and robotic controls. The performance of this resistor is greatly improved with forced air cooling.
Benefits
Aluminium Housed Resistor - CJB Series
- High power overload absorption capability ensuring higher reliability
- Multiple mounting options
- Good for limited space applications making it compatible
for broader use
