The wiring harness interconnects the control board to the various components throughout the washer or dryer, such as motors, heating elements, water pumps and valves, sensors, door locks, etc. A typical wiring harness would include power and signal connectors, terminals and splices, heat shrink tubing and labels.

The main control board is the brain of the washer and dryer appliance. The user interface accepts input from the user through buttons, switches, or touch devices and actuates the motors, heating elements, water pumps, and valves to perform the chosen task. A typical control board will have wire-to-board power and signal connectors, sockets, and relays.

A key component in a washer or dryer is an electric motor that rotates the internal drum or tub. There may also be a control circuit that varies speed and direction. Magnet wire terminals or splices connect the winding of the motor to the control circuit or to the power source. These connections may also be within a connector or an integrated I/O for faster assembly.

A water pump flushes water away at the completion of a wash or rinse cycle. Water pumps are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors like RAST.

A door lock prevents a front-loading washer door from being opened while there is water in the drum. Door locks are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors like the RAST connector.

A washer heating element heats incoming water, while a dryer heating element heats the air in the dryer drum. Heating elements connect to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors.

In a washing machine a water valve opens and closes to let a fixed volume of water enter the washer drum or tub. Water
valves connect to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors.

Sensors measure temperature and humidity  so that the control board can perform the task input by the washer or dryer user. These sensors are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors.

TE offers connectors  for turbidity or vibration that can be foamed in place to reduce assembly time and minimize insulation voids. Explore power connectors and sensor solutions.
